2 - Oaxaca, Mexico

Host Roanna visits Oaxaca - a monument to Mexico's authentic past, where colourful street life reflects the native roots. Culinary treats abound here - local specialities such as fried grasshoppers and tacos with exotic fillings spill over at markets and roadside stands. We visit a native Zapotecan weaving workshop; dip local bread into custom ground hot chocolate, and cook stuffed peppers Oaxacan style.

3 - Tango, Argentina

The fiery tango is synonymous with passion and host Roanna, rose in her teeth and black heels gleaming, shines a spotlight on the barrio of San Telm, where the tango was born. This special edition of Entrada looks at this passionate dance, its origins and its burgeoning revival. We also try Argentinean food with a French twist while enjoying a cultural phenomenon that defines the Argentine soul.

4 - Cuernavaca, Mexico

Mexico's City of Eternal Spring welcomes Roanna with open arms. We bask in its calm splendour and cook traditional cuisine at a peaceful hacienda. We dance the Chinelo, a strange native hip hop, and meet a traditional hat maker in an Indian village. We also swing into action at the nature park where the 1963 Tarzan television series was filmed.

5 - San Juan, Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico's capital San Juan is the oldest city in the Americas - but it's quickly building a reputation as one of the hottest new culinary capitals. In the company of host Roanna we tour the Latin Quarter by day, brimming with its authentic atmosphere, and by night, dance to the salsa beat of the bomba and the plena. We'll try a delicious spicy shrimp dish with the city's top chef, and sample a drink amidst the brilliant colours of El Yunque, one of the world's oldest rainforest preserves.

6 - Guanajuato, Mexico

Narrow streets, underground tunnels and stunning colonial architecture make Guanajuato one of the most elegant cities in central Mexico. Historically important, it is the site of the first bloody battle in Mexico's fight for Independence. It has a lively arts scene, busy plazas, and is a city for walking. Entrada host Roanna visits a traditional Mexican sweet shop, drops in on the Don Quixote Museum, and mines for silver - the secret to the city's wealth and grandeur.

7 - Ouro Preto, Brazil

Ouro Preto is Brazil's historic gold rush town set high in the mountains of the Brazilian interior. We explore this fascinating UNESCO World Heritage site, stumble on a lively religious procession, and hunt for the rare Imperial topaz, found only in the hills of Ouro Preto. We learn about the city's history, visit a traditional soapstone carver, and prepare delectable Chicken Ouropronobis with chef Yara Castro Roberts.

8 - Ponce, Puerto Rico

Ponce, Puerto Rico's historic gem has been lovingly restored to its former colonial glory with inspired architecture, both sacred and secular, as one of the main attractions. The other is the sea. We join Roanna on a magical boat trip. Back on land we'll explore the island's pulsing rhythms and prepare a delicious snapper stuffed with lobster and shrimp.

9 - Merida, Mexico

Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula is an intriguing mix of Mayan and Spanish culture. It's also a nature-lover's paradise and a food-lover's dream. Effervescent host Roanna frolics with pink flamingos, cooks traditional Yucatan cuisine at an historic hacienda, and tours its colonial streets and Mayan ruins.

10 - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

From its magnificent, bustling beaches to its pulsating nightlife, Rio is the city that never sleeps - where food and fun collide in an explosion of brilliant colour. We'll join presenter Roanna as she explores the city's culture, takes a helicopter ride over Rio's sprawling coast, meets with a group of cutting edge local artists and enjoys the fantastic flavours of feijoada, Brazil's national dish.

11 - The Pampas, Argentina

Spend a day on the grasslands of the never-ending Argentine Pampas, the great South American outback and home of the legendary Gaucho. It's an adventure on horseback as we move the herd across the plains and barbecue over an open fire. We also learn the secrets of the Mate tea ceremony, a cowboy ritual hundreds of years old, and now an inextricable part of Argentine daily life.

12 - Puebla, Mexico

Renowned as the cradle of Mexican cuisine, Puebla is the birthplace of Mole, one of Mexico's defining culinary inventions. We visit the kitchen of the 19th century nun who invented Mole for visiting dignitaries and learn how to make the sparkling Talavera tiles that grace the facades of the city's colonial buildings and baroque churches.

13 - South West Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico's west coast has got it all! Entrada explores the region's culture, cuisine, and natural beauty. We visit a local craftsman who makes the cuatro, a guitar-like instrument indigenous to the island, and we go 'spelunking' in the Cavernas de Rio Camuy. At the beach, Roanna learns the basics of surfing and cooks outdoors with a chef who prepares red snapper with a spicy mango salsa.
